Once you have a deeper understanding of RPA, it's time to delve into identifying processes in your area ripe for automation. Below, you'll find a set of reflective questions tailored to assist you in pinpointing potential candidates for RPA. Should your process align with these criteria, we encourage you to share your insights by submitting your idea below!

  • Does this process require minimal human judgement and is it guided by clearly defined procedures and rules?
  • Are the inputs to this process largely digital (e.g., system tasks, electronic forms) with structured data (as opposed to free form text that must be interpreted)?
  • Does this process happen often and produce a high-volume output?
  • Do the steps and rules of the process change infrequently?
  • Are there minimal (10 or fewer) exceptions (i.e., different paths in the process flow) involved with this process?
  • As it stands now, does this process interact with fewer than six systems (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Workday, Service Now, OneUSG Connect)?
  • Does the current process have an issue with human errors being made? Note: Automation should reduce the number of data entry errors experienced.
